Artistic Director - Alice Rice Boyer

Alice Boyer, a choir clinician, vocal instructor, adjudicator, choral voice-matching aficionado, and instrumental instructor is originally a Pennsylvania native. She studied Opera Performance and Music Education at Penn State University and the University of Pennsylvania in Edinboro, PA.  While her major instrument was Voice, she also plays and teaches several other band and stringed instruments as well. She served as Minister of Music at Girard Presbyterian Church in Girard, Pennsylvania; Parker Christian Center, Crossroads Community Church, and New Beginnings Church in Parker, Colorado; and Scappoose Foursquare Church in Scappoose, Oregon. Mrs. Boyer held the position as Artistic Director and Conductor for Bridges Music Ministry, a 45-voice choir whose concert proceeds have gone to support 8 different charities in Denver, Colorado.  She was also the Assistant Director and choir clinician to the Douglas County Children’s Chorus, a 75-voice mixed touring children’s choir also based in Denver. Alice has served as Artist in Residence and Choral Clinician for the 135-voice Cherry Creek Chorale, an oratorio choir based in Englewood, Colorado.  She has sung opera and toured Austria and the Czech Republic in 2001 with the Purdue Festival Choir in celebration of the Dvorak Festival. As the current Artistic Director for The River City Singers (Columbia Chorale of Oregon), she and her choir were invited to perform in Carnegie Hall in New York City, with Dr. William Skoog, Chair of Choral Studies at Rhodes College in 2017 and were invited back to perform with conductor, John Rutter for a sacred concert on Memorial Day, 2019. She has worked as the Band and Choir Director at Scappoose Adventist School, Tualatin Valley Academy, Rivergate Adventist Academy, and was a contract teacher for music in the Scappoose Public School District. Mrs. Boyer is married, with 4 children and 3 grandchildren. and resides in Scappoose, Oregon.

Chorale Accompanist - Rob Fishel

Rob Fishel is a freelance keyboardist, accompanist, music director, and educator who has played for the River City Singers (Columbia Chorale of Oregon) since 2009. He received his training at Reed College (BA, music) and Portland State (MAT, music), and currently works mainly with choirs and voice studios in the Portland area. Rob is also an active musical theater professional, having appeared as music director, rehearsal accompanist, and orchestra keyboardist in schools and theaters throughout the region. His musical interests are diverse, ranging from theory to music technology to genre-bending arrangements, and he has performed with ensembles in styles ranging from classical chamber music to Celtic folk to Zimbabwean dance music. His major extramusical interests are gaming, narrative art forms, and his wife Vera.

Children’s Choir Director - Lynnda N. Fuller

River City Children’s Choir Director, Lynnda Fuller, has taught general music, choir, and band in grades K-8, and music/art methods at the college level in Oregon, Washington, and Texas. She directed the Otto Petersen 6th Grade Choir, the Scappoose Middle School Choir, and a combined 3rd – 6th Grade Scappoose Schools Choir.  Additionally, she has served as a church choir director and organist.

Fuller received a B.A. in Arts and Letters and an Oregon Teaching Certificate from Portland State University, a Master of Music Education from the University of Portland, and a PhD. In Fine Arts – Music from Texas Tech University.

Dr. Fuller has served as President and Secretary of the Southern Washington Oregon Kodály Educators, State General Music Chair for the Oregon Music Educators Association. She has presented workshops for music educators on the state, regional, and national levels. Her presentations focused on using Kodály based pedagogy to teach music literacy in the general music and choral settings.

In the academic world, she has presented research posters at the Oregon Music Educators Conference, The National Association for Music Education’s Northwest Conference (NafME), NAfME’s National Conference, the Organization of American Kodály Educators (OAKE) National Conference, and Western Division OAKE Mini Conference. She presented a research paper at the NafME (formerly MENC) Centennial Conference.
